CheatsMatch Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the CheatsMatch website and its contact form. It does not cover a game publisher, provider, review platform or other external site reached through a source link. Those services have their own practices. CheatsMatch is the public name used for this website; questions about its data handling can be sent through our contact form.

Our site analytics count page views and selected actions, such as using a comparison filter, opening product details, following an internal link or submitting a correction. The purpose is to understand which pages and comparison features are useful.

These analytics do not use advertising cookies or a persistent visitor identifier. The analytics records do not store your IP address or browser user-agent. Counts are aggregated and retained for up to 90 days. They are available through a protected administrative interface. We do not use these counts to create advertising audiences or sell visitor profiles.

The browser keeps temporary state within the current tab to avoid counting repeated actions and recognize a comparison session. This state expires after 30 minutes without a tracked action. Search text and private form messages are not sent as analytics. We respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals by disabling analytics collection.

This description concerns our first-party aggregate analytics. It does not mean that network requests reach a website without request data: the hosting and delivery systems process information needed to deliver and protect the site.

We also use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, sessions and use of public pages. Google processes page and referrer information, browser and device details, and analytics cookie identifiers. Our Google Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 90 days without extending that period on every page view. Google Analytics has separate storage and retention settings from our first-party counts.

We send canonical public page URLs to Google Analytics, excluding search queries and URL fragments. We do not send contact messages, reply email addresses, CMS activity or search text through our configured events. Google advertising signals and advertising personalization are disabled. Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control disables both analytics systems. You can also block analytics through your browser settings or an analytics-blocking tool.

A submission can include a subject, the page concerned, your message, supporting source links and an optional reply email. We assign a request reference and record the submission time so the issue can be reviewed.

We use this information to understand corrections, assess sources, address website issues and respond where appropriate. Providing a reply email is optional. If you do not provide one, we may be unable to ask for more detail or answer your question. The form does not automatically send email.

Please keep messages relevant to the request. Do not submit passwords, access keys, payment details or another person’s private information. A public source URL is usually enough to identify a factual correction.

The systems hosting and delivering CheatsMatch receive ordinary request information needed to serve pages and help protect the website. This can include IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps and browser information. Their operational logs are separate from our aggregate analytics.

Administrative access is restricted. Contact messages are not exposed in public page data. We use access controls and operational safeguards appropriate to running the site, while no online service can promise that every security incident will be prevented.

Access to private contact submissions is limited to authorized site administration and review. We keep submissions while they are needed to handle the request, follow up on a correction or retain a record of the issue. We remove or reduce information that is no longer needed during administrative review.

Aggregate analytics are retained for up to 90 days. Hosting and delivery logs follow separate operational retention settings. If a request concerns particular submitted information, identify that information so we can assess it directly.

Use the contact form to ask what submitted information we hold, request a correction or request deletion of information you supplied. Include the earlier request reference and enough detail to locate it. We may need to confirm that the request concerns your information before making a change.

Avoid sending identity documents or sensitive information unless it is specifically needed and an appropriate process has been arranged. Applicable rights and any exceptions depend on the circumstances and relevant law; this policy does not limit rights that apply to you.

Source links take you to services operated by other parties. We do not control the information those services collect or the content they display. Read their privacy information before sending them personal details or creating an account. A citation on CheatsMatch is a reference to evidence, not an assurance about another service’s data handling.

We update this page when the site’s data handling materially changes. Its review date shows when the policy text was last reviewed. Changes to analytics, contact handling or third-party services should be reflected here before the changed behavior is introduced.
