CheatsMatch Editorial Policy
CheatsMatch publishes game cheat and HWID spoofer comparisons using named products, dated sources and consistent scoring rules. We separate facts visible on a website from claims about how software works. This policy explains what enters a comparison, how we handle missing information and how readers or providers can request corrections.
How products enter comparisons
We start with a matched public brand, official website and a specific product listing. A useful listing needs an identifiable product type, relevant game scope, a price or an explicit note that pricing is not published, and a check date. Unknown status can be shown when a public check cannot establish it.
A commercial comparison needs at least three qualifying products from two providers. We merge billing variants and known duplicate products. A large catalog alone does not prove that the store develops every item it sells. A reseller inference is labeled as an inference, and real developer names are not required.
Sources and evidence labels
Official listings, pricing selectors, status pages and policies supply product information. Game publishers and anti-cheat vendors supply the technical and enforcement context. Trustpilot, Reddit and sales-forum discussions can add attributed customer reports. We check whether a report concerns the exact product and whether a writer is also promoting or reselling it.
- CheatsMatch Verified: we directly checked the specific objective fact described, such as a displayed price or published support route.
- Provider-Reported: the provider states the feature, compatibility or status; this is not a functional test.
- Independently Corroborated: at least two independent third-party sources support the same claim. Copies of one source do not count twice.
- Unknown / Unverified: the available sources do not establish the detail. We describe the gap instead of guessing.
Freshness and status checks
A last-checked date records a source review. It does not mean that software was used on that date or that a page is monitored continuously. We check public status pages where available and retain meaningful disagreements with the sales page.
We recheck when reviewing a listing, addressing a supported correction or investigating a material change. We do not promise daily updates. A current page date does not refresh every older price or claim automatically; relevant source dates remain attached to the underlying information.
Scoring and recommendations
Scores measure documentation using eight weighted factors. Numeric scores require at least 70% evidence coverage. Best Documented requires at least 85% and the other eligibility checks in our methodology. Missing data stays in the denominator.
Inclusion does not guarantee a recommendation. We do not create a winner when eligible results tie, and an updating product does not become Best Documented because it has a detailed website. We do not invent hands-on tests, ban rates, detection rates, customer counts or successful refund outcomes.
How corrections work
Use the contact form to identify the page, the disputed detail and a supporting public source. We review the source and the scope of the claim before changing the comparison. A provider can submit a correction through the same process as a reader.
We can correct a factual field, clarify attribution, revise an assessment or remove an unsupported claim. We do not promise that every submission will receive a reply. Private messages and personal details are not published automatically.
Editorial ownership
CheatsMatch is maintained anonymously under the CheatsMatch brand. We are responsible for the comparisons and corrections published on this website. A provider’s sales language remains attributed to the provider, even when its product appears in a comparison.
This policy and the scoring method apply across games and providers. If a material rule changes, we explain the revised rule and record the change.
